jtb’s always a big advocate
of the KCRW site. What I never really
noticed before was that Morning Becomes Eclectic doesn’t just offer
audio, but MOVING PICTURES as well! Kids, this is just like
the “talkies” of yore, only instead of talking it’s music, plus
also it’s in color instead of black and white, and it appears
in a little RealPlayer window instead of on the screen at the
Bijou. Anyway, here are some links for some of the Morning
Becomes Eclectic performances from the past year:

Merge will release the new Destroyer
record, Your Blues, on March 9th. The early PR for it says:“it promises
to be a slight swerve away from the sprawling epic chamber rock of 2002’s This Night.
Early word from Merge tips Your Blues as a poetic mishmash of balls-out
rockers and intensely quiet creepers underpinned by an unabashedly theatrical air.” In
any case, I’m sure it’ll be pretty swell. I love Bejar’s Hytchcockian vocal delivery.

And I just recently noticed that Parasol is
now offering 15% on
all new releases, which is pretty nice. Lots of places offer 10% off deals, but that’s like
a car dealer cutting you a deal by “waiving floor charges”. 15% off is like, actually REAL MONEY.
I ordered JV’s Cellar Door and dios‘ Los Arboles, both
of which are dropping next Tuesday.

Also, the fascinating “Mingering Mike collection”. UPDATE: The original poster of the Mingering Mike thread over at Soulstrut got spooked for some reason and pulled down all the pics and stuff. (MetaFilter thread is here)
