John Peel has died. Sad news, but he leaves behind a great legacy of pointing out good music to the world. Coolfer has a link to this list, meticulously tracking all of the Peel Sessions since 1992. I say go out and pick up a Peel Session disc today in John’s honor. The Frank Black/Teenage Fanclub disc is a personal favorite of mine.

I keep forgetting to mention that lhb dug up this cover of the Mountain Goats doing Thin Lizzy’s “The Boys Are Back In Town” that segues into “Ignition (Remix)”. It struck me as incredibly odd, only in that that very segue happens on an almost daily basis as we listen to music at work.
