Rubber Traits
Check out the video for Why?’s “Rubber Traits”, the lead-off track for the upcoming Rubber Traits EP, out 2/28 on Anticon. And you could always just download the mp3, of course.
About 3 weeks ago, I pointed out the single Free Jazz by (mostly) Swedish band Envelopes. I mentioned it then because I just couldn’t stop listening to it. I mention it again now because, well, I just can’t stop listening to it, PLUS, it’s now actually available for purchase. I’m telling you, go here and click on “Free Jazz”. Is good.
Lucky SXSW-ers will get a chance to see Envelopes at this year’s fest, and lucky NYC-ers will actually get a chance too, as Envelopes are playing exactly one US show outside of SXSW, and it’s 3/14 at the Mercury Lounge.
I can’t get enough of that new Kelley Stoltz record, Below The Branches, and now, everyone can give it a listen, thanks to this free album stream from VPRO.
The ever-vigilant BMR tracked that stream down. BMR has a new disc coming out soon, in the form of a split CD on Moonpalace Records with Spanish (Basque, actually) musician Joseba Irazoki. More details as they come.
