The Great White Jenkins ft. Karl Blau

The Great White Jenkins - Karl Blau - 7-Inch

Many moons ago, I pointed you to a wonderful collab between Richmond, VA’s The Great White Jenkins and the incomparable Karl Blau, called “Look Out World”– a really great tune, done up in TGWJ’s charming, ramshackle style, along with a definite flourish of Blau-itude. Thing is, only way you could hear the song was to stream it on their Myspace. But that is now changed. The band has just released the track as a the A-side to a new 7-inch (with another TGWJ/Blau track, “Tell Me Something Good,” on the flip), and are kicking off a short East Coast tour to support, starting tonight in Richmond, VA.

Where to pick up the 7-inch? Well, I assume at one of the shows, but outside of that, they didn’t say…. I guess you need to write to ‘em and tell ‘em you want a copy!

(and PS, as long as we’re talking about Karl Blau, I should probably tip you that he’s got a new full-length, called Zebra, due out 10/6 from K.)

Love these guys. My favourite thing of theirs is ‘Tentacles’ though – you have to hear it live. Still one of the best moments of my musical lifetime, and an unexpectedly jazzy thing to hear in that weird divey bar in Olympia.
