Destroyer’s “Streethawk” (& Thief & City of Daughters) Reissued
I’ve mentioned about a bazillion times how I spent a really exorbitant amount of cash on my copy of Destroyer’s Streethawk vinyl. I mention it again now only to point out that you don’t need to do the same as I did– Merge has just announced a vinyl reissue of this perfect-10-of-an-album, and it’s due out on 4/20. You can, and should, stream Streethawk, unquestionably one of my favorite records of all time, in its entirety at Merge.

They’re doing a CD reissue of the album too, along with CD reissues of 2 other early Destroyer classics, Thief and City of Daughters. Of course, if you want those of vinyl, you should definitely pick up the double-LP reissue containing both that Nominal out last year.

We are kindred spirits then. Streethawk is indeed one of the very best greatest ever records. No one ever seems to believe me, but it is.

streethawk is great but over-rated compared to other destroyer records, his other albums are better, except maybe city of daughters, which has some gems but also some throw aways. this night and thief are my favorites.

Just listened to this album 4 times today on the stream. It’s like a sensitive Digital Ash in a Digital Urn, if that makes sense.

[...] Destroyer: That’s Canadian rocker Dan Bejar’s band and one of their best albums is Streethawk. You could stream the re-issued version or even download a couple of tracks. [...]
