I’m as surprised as anyone that the new mix got put up on time, but there it is.

Hey, are you on the Catbird Records Mailing List? If not, you probably didn’t hear about the new release this week. It’s a little different than the typical Catbird release– first of all, it’s not a rock record, and secondly, we’re thinking of this one more like an objet d’art than just a new CD.

Ok, so, you probably already know the guy responsible for this new release– he’s done work with Destroyer, Sparrow, and, oh yeah, a band called Zumpano.

CSP 003 Jason Zumpano – In The Co. Of Ghosts: Music For Jason McLean

So here’s the deal: Jason Zumpano and visual artist Jason McLean decided to do an artistic collaboration, a sort of art-trade project, in which McLean provided some lovely art, and Zumpano, in exchange, created a set of music, in the form of 12 new solo piano compositions. And we’re very happy to be presenting this new Catbird release as a document of this collaboration.

In The Co. Of Ghosts is a 12-song disc of new JZ piano compositions, plus 3 hand-screened, hand-numbered prints of Jason McLean art, in a hand-screened ‘Mini 7-Inch’-style sleeve. Limited Edition of 200. $5.
