SXSW schedules are up here.

SXSW schedules are up here.

Check out BowsandArrows.net to listen
to some tracks from the Walkmen’s new
record, and also check out the new video for “The Rat”. It’s tits, man.

Jon’s got a nice valenteeny mix up.

Everyone and their grandma is posting about the new Wilco record,
so I’ll follow suit. S’out June 8th, and is called A Ghost Is Born.

Tracklist:
At least that’s what you said
Hell is
Chrome
Spiders (kidsmoke)
Muzzle of Bees
Hummingbird
Handshake drugs
Company in my back
I’m a wheel
Wishful thinking
Late greats
Theologians
Less than you think

And from the “I Shoulda Sold My Extra Copy When I Had The Chance” department comes
news that Post Parlo is re-releasing the ultra-popular
Britt Daniel/Bright Eyes split on
March 23rd. I’ll probably still be able to ebay my original copy though, as this release
appears to have different artwork, and if I had to guess, I’d say this one’s non-signed and
numb’d and probably just comes in a jewel case.

And I *highly* doubt that this link will live for very long, but you can download the entirety of Modest Mouse’s Good News For People Who Love Bad News here. Note that it was ripped from a radio broadcast, so it’s not exactly the highest quality. UPDATE: It’s dead. Told ya.

I really wish I

I really wish I could see that teddy bear video for Royal City’s “Bad Luck”, but
I cannae seem to track it down anywhere. Ah well, I’ll have to just be happy listening to the song. It
never gets old.

* Also, download “3AM” by Royal City member Jim Guthrie here.

** Plus also, when I first got Alone At The Microphone, I didn’t recognize the engineer’s name. Now I do. Mr. Sufjan Stevens

*** Plus also, a reminder: RC’s Little Heart’s Ease will be out June 6th.

In non-RC news, for those interested, here’s Modest Mouse on Carson Daly from the other night. [via gramophone]

Frank is reporting that The

Frank is reporting that The Hidden Cameras‘ new
one, Mississauga Goddamn, will be out sometime between April and June. I heard it’s coming out in May so that sounds about
right to me. I also heard that Rough Trade will be
releasing The Hidden Cameras Play The CBC Sessions, a limited-edition 6 track live vinyl edition, on March 29.

Matt Pond PA’s new record, Emblems, should be out at the end of April.

Teenage Fanclub are currently in Chicago recording their next album. More details when any details whatsoever surface.

Anders Parker, TAFKA Varnaline, currently has a special offer: For a limited time,
buy the first three Varnaline full-length records, shipping included, for $36.00 and
get the A Shot and a Beer EP for free. The offer’s only valid thru the 14th, so get on it.
[mp3s]

The Robbers On High Street’s Fine Lines
has been pushed back from February 17th to March 9th. But, they’ve also announced that there’ll now be
a free 7-inch with the CD at “select retailers”. Also, they’ve got a couple dates this month with FOW:
…..
Saturday, February 21 The Norva, Norfolk, VA
Sunday, February 22 9:30 Club, Washington, DC
…..

If you haven’t got it yet, you can now buy that new Modest Mouse track, “Float On”, from the Apple iTunes store for 99 cents. It’s worth it. Also, just for fun, see if you can do the same with “The Rat”, by The Walkmen. Really. Type it in and see what happens.

And jon pointed out that you can stream
the new Secret Machines album here
. Sounds pretty good to me; it’s much better than their previous
album, which I bought after reading many glowing reviews, only to find that there was exactly
one song on the album that I liked, and it was, coincidentally, the one I’d already downloaded from
their website.

Enhance your overall We Shall

Enhance your overall We Shall All Be Healed experience by
exploring Darnielle’s WSABH microsite. Also note that if we’re lucky,
3 Beads Of Sweat will be re-releasing
both Zopilote Machine and Nothing For Juice this year. Meantime, you can always swing by the 3 BoS store and pick up Protein Source Of The Future…Now! [mp3], Bitter Melon Farm [mp3], and Ghana [mp3]. And while you’re rootin’ around there, you might also want to take advantage of some of those super-cheap clearance deals on things like 5ive Style’s s/t, Afghan Whigs Black Love, Eric Matthews’ It’s Heavy In Here, or Yo La Tengo’s Little Honda. Just sayin’.

Chamber popsters Pas/Cal have a new EP, Oh Honey, We’re Ridiculous out
March 3rd on Le Grand Magistery. Here’s a track:

::: What Happened To The Sands :::

Carl Johns is the lead singer of a band called Noahjohn, but he has a solo album out, under the name ‘Charlemagne’, on Winterlander Records on
February 17th. Check out that ’stache. I’m really really digging this song:

::: August Evenings :::

And you’ve probably heard the song already, but here’s Modest Mouse
performing “Float On” on Canada’s ZeD.
The single is officially out next week.
