I recently heard Elephant Micah’s
I recently heard Elephant Micah’s latest, Elephant Micah and The Loud Guitars, and let me tell you, it’s pretty damn good. On the other hand, good fucking luck finding a copy…it was a limited run of 150. Apparently, it’s the second in a three-parter series (the first one being Elephant Micah and the Palmyra Palm (run of 135)), and the third disc should be out before the end of the year. Don’t cry too much if you can’t turn up a copy right now though, as you may in fact be able to pick up all 3 as a set sometime in the near future.
I kept meaning to mention that My Mean Magpie has been busy putting online all of the releases he put out on the “Magpie” label. High-quality, and totally free. Plus, bonuses: the unreleased Royal City track “If Not For Now”, and “The Succession Song”, by the Cigarette Kids, an older, defunct band featuring Jim (”Three Gut”) Guthrie.
I like this: Singer-songwriter Luke Temple has a new s/t EP out, and you can download a full 50% of it over at the Mill Pond Records website.
Temple’s full-length will be out early ‘05.
Kaleb says that the new Clyde Federal EP, Sensitive Skin, is good stuff. I can only judge by the mp3, but I think I agree:
If you order now from the No Karma store, you can get Sensitive Skin packaged with ’02’s Please Be Real for $6.99.
Figure this one out for yourself: The Fiery Furnaces sing “Mouse House“.
