Vibrating Needles

Here’s a podcast from Cincinnati’s Vibrating Needle Collective, featuring some of Cincy’s good stuff, like The Spectacular Fantastic (whose new album is now available for pre-order over at Ionik).

Head over here and check out some new mp3s from SF’s The Lonelyhearts, featuring members of Rust Belt Music. Their new record, Dispatch, just came out on DIY or Else Records.

Frank pointed out that they’ve posted Teenage Fanclub’s KEXP Session from back in August.

Secretly Canadian is doing a Limited-to-700-and-Available-Only-at-European-Live-Shows release of a Dolorean/Jurado split 7″. You Europeans can check out the dates here.

And while we’re at it, Americans should check out that tour page too and note that Jens Lekman is touring the States this fall.

Hey, also note that Jason Anderson has a big crapload of Fall Tour Dates as well.

Christen from Cornerstone sent over a note saying to check out The Morning After Girls (from Australia, I think). Wait a minute, there’s only one girl in the band, what the? Anyway, you can check out their music here. Their American release will come courtesy of Rainbow Quartz.

Matador had seemingly posted the video for Spoon’s “Sister Jack” a few days ago, but I can’t find a trace of it now, so I actually am not sure why I’m even mentioning it.

The RosebudsBirds Make Good Neighbors is out next week on Merge. I’ve mentioned before that it sounds quite different than their first LP, but you understand that I’m not saying that’s a bad thing in any way, right? I like this one:

::: The Rosebuds - Blue Bird :::

Note that They’re touring too. Basically, everyone you can think of is touring, so just keep an eye on your local listings.

Happy September

Happy September. New mix today. Thanks go to Jesse LeDoux for
the awesome banner this month. I assume everyone is already very familiar with Jesse’s work, but if not, check out the packaging for the Shins’ Chutes Too Narrow, Pedro the Lion’s Achilles Heel, or any number of Jesse’s amazing posters. You can also swing by the
LeDouxville
Shop
and pick up one of his cool t-shirts, or
better yet, if you find yourself in Seattle this
weekend, swing by the Patent
Pending
booth over at Flatstock 7 and
buy something from Jesse in person.

Also, a big thanks to Patrick of the PCC for hooking me up with their track at the last minute. Good man. You can pick up the latest disc from the Poison Control Center, Kennedy, over at Bi-Fi Records.
